What Parents Are Saying About...
"The Kids Place"
Home Daycare and Preschool

Excellent care!!! Rose is extremely conscientious. She provides a very structured environment. She exceeded our expectations. Her preschool program helped my son with his reading skills and improved in most areas.

Rose provides excellent, competent care. She is extremely conscientious and caring with all of the children in her care. She maintains high standards. She is extremely organized, exact, competent individual. My daughter is developmentally on time or beyond due to Rose's Program.

If this were Rose's "report card", of sorts, she receives straight "A's" (& a 4.0) from us! She does a wonderful job!
She has exceeded my expectations. She continually provides innovative learning experiences for our toddler and takes extra time to lovingly care for both of our boys. She has gone out of her way to accommodate our family on several occasions. I appreciate Rose's flexibility. Daily curriculum is scheduled, but if my toddler's attention span w/not accommodate completion of the activity, he is permitted to play on his own. Rose is quick to recognize his personal needs and limitations. I believe this nurturing fosters good attitudes toward learning and reinforces our personal ideals.
We highly recommend Rose as a caregiver. She is completely trustworthy and could not be better qualified.

Rose has provided a wonderful environment for my child to learn, play and grow. He has formed a great respect and relationship with her and with his peers through her direction and care. Any child is very lucky to be part of her program and any parent will truly value her ability to care for their child with the same care they themselves would give.

As Grandparents of XXXXXX XXXXXXX- we have had the pleasure to work closely with Rose. Her home was always a pleasure to pick up XXXXXX and he was truly made a part of her family. Much of what XXXXXX's mom wanted and liked with her son (as a single parent) was always reinforced with Rose, and the trust in knowing someone was caring for him, as we do, would be a blessing to all the little hearts she touches.

I would recommend Rose to anyone. She is very caring and attentive of the children. She also teaches them about good morals and values such as politeness, kindness, consequences for actions, sharing, etc...
Her preschool program is excellent and my son has learned a lot. I believe he would be ready for kindergarten without going to an outside preschool.
My son looks forward to going to Miss Rose's and is always willing to show me his school work and talk about it.
My son has been with Rose for 2 and 1/2 years and Miss Rose has had a positive influence on his development and learning during this time. It is not often a family is lucky enough to find such an excellent day care provider, "In-home" and so close!

In choosing an appropriate place for my children, I not only looked for a safe environment with appropriate opportunities, but I also wanted someone who would be there consistently, providing much of the love, one-on-one care and concern I would provide if I were able to stay home with them myself. After looking at all of the daycare centers in the city, as well as several in home providers, I felt extremely blessed when interviewing Rose. Her care and concern for the children began even before she met them, and her desire to make there transition in to her home was comforting. When my oldest son had to move to a provider in his elementary school district he missed the joyful activities, appropriate structure and friendship he developed with Rose and her family.
Her dedication to the total development of the children is evident in their daily activities. She works hard to provide opportunities and appropriate structure for the children, and often consults with us to be sure we are all on the same page regarding development, discipline techniques, and daily care habits. When picking up our children, her efforts to keep us informed of activities during the day helps bring us closer to what is happening with my children on a daily basis, making us feel confident that our children are well cared for and safe in her home. In addition, daily folders with preschool projects, reminders, newsletters and extensive assessment information provides for formal communication throughout the year.
Rose's efforts to contribute to the children's learning process is evident in the growth of my youngest son. He began attending Rose's program when he was 21 months old. Having just moved he was experiencing several changes all at once; a new home, new friends, and a new caregiver. This, combined with a bit of delayed speech due to a recently discovered need for glasses, could have been very difficult for him. However my fears vanished when I came to pick him up after the first day in Rose's care... his happy, smiling face told me he had experienced a wonderful day, and his reluctance to leave immediately showed how comfortable he felt as a part of her home. Now, at the age of almost 30 months he has shown a marked improvement in his speech, knows a vast array of cognitive skills, and speaks in complete sentences piecing together several thoughts. His conceptual development has dramatically advanced, largely due to Rose's ongoing efforts to not only love and care for them, but encourage them to progress at their own rate of achievement. He has developed true friendships with the other children in Rose's care, as well as with her family members, enabling him to learn some of the important steps in social development he might not otherwise learn if Rose did not appropriately direct their alliances. Never is television used as an electronic babysitter, and their daily schedule changes if needed to make them more comfortable.
As a director of two county head start programs, I know the importance a quality childcare provider has in children's lives. I cannot imagine a better place for my children to be than at Rose's Family Childcare home.

My daughter and I are very particular about the care of her children, having lost their "in between" brother at 19 months of age and their father through a difficult divorce. Having Rose as our childcare provider for XXXXXXXX since last July, we still continue to be amazed at what Miss Rose is teaching him and how satisfied he is being in her home. I cannot adequately express the quality of total care Rose gives her children: real preschool on a professional level, calm structured atmosphere, outdoor time every day, all with constant "parenting". May I attempt to convey Rose to you by simply listing some of what we have experienced?
Rose's home has a preschool classroom near the entry and a large carpeted playroom in the basement. A parent board is near the entryway to be checked each day.
Rose sends home newsletters, daily preschool work, practice sheets for working with the child at home, and notes for any need in the child's folder that they carry back and forth daily.
The children and Rose are outdoors playing happily when we pick XXXXXXXXX up at 5:30pm. We had immediately noticed that he was much easier to handle at home during that difficult "fix supper" time as soon as he started with Rose. We determined it is because she feeds him a healthy snack at 4:00pm daily than plays with him calmly (no tv) until we arrive.
XXXXXXXX is one of the most polite 2-year-olds you will meet. Rose has taught him to say "Thank you" for everything (even when we give him medicine), "excuse me" when he burps or passs gas, and to cover his mouth when he coughs!
She has taught him to be gentle with animals. Rose's family received a new kitten for Christmas. XXXXXXXX carries around a little stuffed puppy now and pets him very gently with soothing words. Rose's teaching has astunded us (both teachers by training) by the knowledge XXXXXXXX continually demonstrates. He knew his colors by 26 months, identifies the alphabet in stores or the books we read to him, knows numbers through 9, loves to do "papers" with emergent writing, can draw face, and is learning his address.
It would be nice to think that all these good things are happening in our child because we are such a wonderful family, but reality is that Rose has XXXXXXXX for 50 hours per week. We are so very happy that she is "raising him" in an atmosphere of calmness, love and learning. She is a major influence in his development in these critical years. We are so thankful to have found her and heartily recommend her.

I love the "home" environment for the kids. Your home is always very clean. The preschool is excellent. I can tell XXX's learning a lot. I love the fact the kids go on walks and get outside.

Rose was recommended to us by friends. She has been superb with XXXXXXXX's care and pre-school education. We feel comfortable and confident when XXXXXXX is at The Kids Place.
Former client, 2001

Our child has learned a lot. We know that he is safe and well cared for. We feel Rose is very responsible and is always there to greet us. Activities are very appropriate and presented in a fun environment. Daily reports and other updates are well documented and "report cards" provide elements of success and items that are needed to work on. This has been an excellent educational and social opportunity for our child.

Your program has benefited our family by having a wonderful person (Rose) to watch our child. It really gives us the piece of mind that when we go to work, we know that the most important thing in our lives is safe and well. It is a real pleasure and honor to have Rose as a child care provider.

"The Kids Place" daycare and preschool has benefited our whole family. My son is learning and developing many great things. For us the daycare is piece of mind that our son is in the best hands possible.
Former client, 2004

I think one of the most beneficial parts of your program is the peace of mind that my child is getting the best care, education, and "love" that you can find in a daycare/preschool setting. I have no doubts or fears as I have pulled out of your driveway for the past year, plus some. We are very greatful for you and your family. Thank you!
Former client, 2005

There is "no better" in-home daycare than "The Kids Place". Our family feels truly blessed to have stumbled upon "The Kids Place" website. It was a blessing indeed! We really feel that this is the perfect place for a little boy to grow and learn while we are away at work. We will never take him somewhere else for daycare. The quality and consistancey is "out of this world"!
Current client, 2005

Our son is proud to tell us about the things he learned in school each day. He is showing a genuine interest in school, art, and learning.
Current client, 2005

All of the above comments about my program came from my "Childcare Reference Form" and "Letters of Recommendation" that I give to or my families have done for me every so often. I use the reference form so that the parents can score my program and aids me in improving and keeping the individual needs of each of my families in mind. I think it is important to hear from families what they have thought about a program, before placing your child in the program. For that reason, I created this page.

I'd also like to thank all the wonderful families I've had the pleasure of working with. I've enjoyed, and still do enjoy, watching your children grow and being a part of that growth. It is my hope that each child leaves with a little something that carries them through life in a better way. Thank you for all you do and helping me be "the best I can be"!

        Miss Rose :)
